CADVoice® automated dispatching “smokes” manual dispatching & dramatically improves response times

A major city in the western United States that has deployed Locution Systems’ CADVoice® automated dispatching and fire station alerting system was interested in a head-to-head comparison of manual vs. automated dispatching. To that end, Locution Systems quietly set up a head-to-head test of manual vs. automated dispatching at one of the department’s fire stations for a period of 11 days. Over that 11 days, both manual and automated dispatches were arriving at the station. To make sure they did not modify their normal behavior, the dispatchers were not alerted that the test would be taking place. Once the 11-day period has passed, a review of the CADVoice® system log files indicated the following dramatic improvements achieved by using Locution Systems automated dispatching and fire station alerting technology:

  • Building Fire Dispatch: Locution Systems automated dispatching saved 2 minutes, 24 seconds (vs. manual dispatching)
  • Traffic Accident Dispatch: Locution Systems automated dispatching saved 3 minutes, 5 seconds (vs. manual dispatching)
  • Smoke Investigation Dispatch: Locution Systems automated dispatching saved 2 minutes, 42 seconds (vs. manual dispatching)
  • Cardiac Call Medical Dispatch: Locution Systems automated dispatching saved 1 minute, 21 seconds (vs. manual dispatching)
