SAN DIEGO, Calif. & GOLDEN, Colo. (Aug. 24, 2007) - TriTech Software Systems, a leading provider of public safety computer-aided dispatch, mobile data, and records management solutions, and Locution Systems, a provider of advanced, automated public safety dispatching, zoned dispatching, and fire station alerting and control technologies, today announced commissions to provide their respective technologies to five U.S. cities and counties. TriTech is providing VisiCAD CommandTM, its multi-agency, multi-jurisdiction, computer-aided dispatch system, and Locution Systems is providing CADVoice®, its automated dispatching solution, along with a variety of fire station alerting and automated fire station control devices.
The two companies currently are working together to provide these technologies to the following U.S. cities and counties:
- Clark County, Nevada;
- City of Bellevue, Wash.;
- City of Charlotte, N.C.;
- City of Fort Worth, Texas; and
- West Metro Fire Rescue District, Lakewood, Colo.
TriTech and Locution Systems will provide their public safety technologies to a total of 911 communications centers in these cities and counties, and to 156 fire stations.
By combining TriTech’s computer-aided dispatch system with Locution Systems’ automated dispatching and fire station alerting technologies, these cities will both improve response times and also reduce stress for fire/EMS responders – the number one killer of firefighters, according to 2006 statistics from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA -- www.nfpa.org).
“In an industry where seconds mean the difference between life and death, we are proud to partner with Locution whose concatenated speech and fire station alerting technology have been proven to improve response times,” says TriTech Software Systems President and CEO Chris Maloney. “TriTech and Locution have developed a solid relationship over the last several years and, working together with many mutual clients, we have refined our interface and deployment process to provide for seamless integration between our systems.”
“We have been working with many TriTech customers over the years, and we have a strong working and technical relationship that allows us to collectively offer innovative, cost-effective, and comprehensive public safety technology solutions,” said Glenn Neal, president and chief technical officer of Locution Systems, Inc. “We look forward to leveraging our combined technologies to provide quick, accurate incident and dispatch information to these mutual customers,” said Neal.
How The Technologies Work
TriTech’s VisiCAD Command serves as the core of the decision support process for 911 communication centers by gathering all pertinent information and recommending the closest available resources to an incident. Locution’s CADVoice® complements VisiCAD Command as it automatically routes, creates, and speaks a clear, dispatch announcement to designated Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical stations and/or rescue units in the field. Simultaneous with the CADVoice® dispatch announcement at the designated fire station, the Locution system then automatically activates alarms and displays status information on display devices in the fire station, indicating which rescue units need to respond to the emergency.
Installations where TriTech and Locution already have integrated their products include: Cities of Austin, Texas; City of Seattle, Wash.; and Johnson County, Kan. Both companies will be demonstrating their public safety technologies at that 2007 IAFC Fire Rescue International Conference from August 24 -25, 2007 in Atlanta, Ga. TriTech Software Systems will be exhibiting in Booth No. 4816. Locution Systems will be exhibiting in Booth No. 4722.
